Winter Drum Line Staff

Staff: Night Fire Drum line

Term: The staff of the Night Fire Drum Line is appointed by the BOD of the FMDBCA. Term is on a season by season basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist director in the development and instruction of drum line performances.
  2. Work closely with the drum line director to establish practice and performance schedules.
  3. Communicate with drum line members, other staff, director, and BOD regarding schedule times and location.
  4. Work closely with the director and others to promote drum line membership.
  5. Attend BOD and business meetings and provide reports as needed.
  6. Be familiar with FMDBCA policies, mission, and vision.
  7. Assure that policies and procedures as related to member safety and environment are adhered to.
  8. Provide notice to the director of plans for desire to continue or not into the next season.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable regarding drum line operation and technique instruction
  • Musical and percussion skill
  • Prior experience performing in a drum line is preferred.
  • Clear understanding of moral and ethical responsibilities relative to students.
  • Consistent sense of responsibility and work ethic
  • Punctuality
  • Preparedness
  • Accountability to students, staff, parents, BOD.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and love of percussion and marching arts
  • Understanding of team effort and team building
  • Ability to motivate, put competition into perspective, and convey a positive learning environment.
