Staff: Night Fire Drum line
Term: The staff of the Night Fire Drum Line is appointed by the BOD of the FMDBCA. Term is on a season by season basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist director in the development and instruction of drum line performances.
- Work closely with the drum line director to establish practice and performance schedules.
- Communicate with drum line members, other staff, director, and BOD regarding schedule times and location.
- Work closely with the director and others to promote drum line membership.
- Attend BOD and business meetings and provide reports as needed.
- Be familiar with FMDBCA policies, mission, and vision.
- Assure that policies and procedures as related to member safety and environment are adhered to.
- Provide notice to the director of plans for desire to continue or not into the next season.
Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable regarding drum line operation and technique instruction
- Musical and percussion skill
- Prior experience performing in a drum line is preferred.
- Clear understanding of moral and ethical responsibilities relative to students.
- Consistent sense of responsibility and work ethic
- Punctuality
- Preparedness
- Accountability to students, staff, parents, BOD.
- Strong communication skills
- Enthusiasm and love of percussion and marching arts
- Understanding of team effort and team building
- Ability to motivate, put competition into perspective, and convey a positive learning environment.
